Week 18 presentation

after we finished the garage test, we start to prepare the presentation.

I and buddhika did the presentation before the due day, and I did one time in the 108 building and Vijay is our tutor and listen and see our presentation and gave us some suggestion, and we accepted and modify our presentation.

The next day for real presentation, we did good.

and the tutor sasked us some questions, we answer some of them, and left ones we answered on the our writing report.

Week 17 garage test 2

when we test the showing aboard on the morning however the system did not work,
the reason is the light on the morning is quite bright, so the sensor is not good for day light.

so we changed to the night, and shut down all the light.

start the engine

turning on the high beam, and showing board is low beam and fog light.

The fog light on the showing board is flash.

Turning on the low beam,and showing board is high beam.

when the showing board is capturing the low beam from the vehicle, the high beam shift to the low beam.

because the garage is too short, so between the vehicle and the showing board the distance only has ten meter.

Week 16 garage test

Although we used the LED torch to test the showing board on the lab.
We need to test the board in the garage  under the dark light, because we want to see what will happen, is it working properly?
















First we measure vehilce bonnet  the distance from the ground, and then put the showing board in the same height.




Parking the vehicle in the longer distance and turning on the head light.






Week 15 showing board 2

when we put all part on the showing board, we need to connect the wire.



after connect the wire and power supply than start to test


after the test on the board is successfully we start to solder the wire.
and then test on the garage.





































Weeek 14 showing board first steps

after we did the ciruit picture drawing and Multsim and test on board, we decided to make a showing board.

(1) for the presentation
(2) assignment (in what of kind condition the circuit works)

prepare the matarial, parts , wiring, etc












WEEK 13 problem solved

we check every thing, later we talked with our tutor the problem is coming the transistor.

we need to use the BC 547 to contro the relay and use the relay to load the bulb.
















in the circuit you need the relay to load the bulb, because the high current, which will reach to 1A to 5A or evern more the transistor can not hand it.
after we use the transistor BC547 and the relay, the circuit is working.

WEEK TWELVE PROBLEM

During the test we found one problem:

That is coming from the FOG LIGHT,

We used a transistor 2N3055
To load and control the fog light, it's not working.

WEEK ELEVEN

after we purchased the component we started to put the component on the test board














on the test board the left side is high low beam auto switch and right side is fog light flash.

after the test board is ready and put the power on and bulbs to test, in fact the high low beam is one pair and fog light is pair, but we use the one bulb to test.

and using the LED light to be a light source for high and low beam.

WEEK TEN

Purchasing component:


we purchasing some component for the test board.



















The parts supplier is jaycar. the total price is around 33 NZD.






week night

multisim drawing for the fog light and high low beam is done.

however the picture for the Multisim is hard to put on the blogger,

so we just took a photo by the camera and than transfer the picture from the camrea

to the computer.

By the Multisim did not have the LDR light independent resistor, so we just used a

variable resistor to instead of it.

and later we turn on the light on the multisim the system is working.

Eight week technology project

Hi every one:

I and buddhika manufactured Board A auto switch high low beam and the Board B.

so the next steps:
(1) Redesign the circuit.

(2) Zipping the board A and board B together.

(3) welding the parts on the board

(4) Testing on the lab

To archieve this:

Our tutor Vijay gave some suggestions to us.


We need download the software multisim, designing on the computer.






Week seven technology project

Hi every one!


I and buddhika found the problem: the relay and bulb. we used a relay and small transistor BC 547, the circuit is working, that is good:

(1) To control the 12V21W bulb is better using the relay (four pins)

(2) We can still using the transistor, the BC 547 is used for the control the relay coils.

(3) The BC 547  base pin received the signal from the 555 ciruit, ( digital type ).

(4) The emitter connects to the ground.

(5) The collector connects to the coil.

(6) The coil first connects to the power supply, let current flow through the coil and then go to the collector.

(7) relay 30 connect to the power, and 87 connect to the bulb.

we made a mistake on the the transistor pins, and we mixture the emitter to the collector. so the circuit is not working, unless the relay is dida----dida, and increasing the voltage to 10.5 volt, the bulb turned on. later we diaganostic the problem, the transistor pin is a problem.



Week six technology project

Hi every one:



I and buddhika found the circuit problem was on the part (transistor and bulb).





The design using the transistor to be switch for the bulb is quite hard, because the high current and voltage, later we talked with the tutor about it. we can us a relay to control for the bulb, and the a small relay for the switch for the relay.


That is a new design, but we need to do it by the test.

Week five for the technology project

Hi every one

I and buddhika will do a circuit for the intellegent head light, it has two function:

One is for the auto switch the high beam to low beam.

Two is for the fog light flash to warn the the facing vehicle which is turning on the high beam.

The circuit on the function two is not working:

I and buddhika tried to find one way to test, we thought the oscilloscope maybe can do the job:






The 555 circuit is working, now only the transistor and the bulb ciruit is the problem.

I and buddika made a ciruit for the fog light flash: we tried typeA and TypeB:
Type A:






Type B:
The type A is not working and the type B is still not work, so we tried to find where is the problem. we did not have too many time, so we focus on the type B, because we thought the type B is more suitable for the circuit.

The type B include two parts:

One the signal send:

One is the transistor and bulb:






we test the transistor and bulb, not working. and we thought how to test the signal 555.
